Q&A with Coplin Health Systems’ Newest Nurse Practitioner, Cami Myers, MSN, FNP-C

Coplin Health Systems is pleased to welcome nurse practitioner Cami Myers, MSN, FNP-C, to the Coplin Health Systems team. Cami is excited to provide walk-in and primary care services to our patients at WVUP Health & Wellness Center.

We sat down with Cami to discover what led her to become a nurse practitioner and what she looks forward to in her new role with Coplin Health Systems.

Question: What drove you to choose this career path?

Cami Myers: I chose to become a family nurse practitioner because I wanted to be able to work with a diverse population across the lifespan. I hope to build a long lasting relationship with all of my patients.

Q: Can you tell us about your educational background?

CM: I earned my Master of Nursing degree at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio in 2022. I received my Bachelor of Nursing degree at the University of Charleston in Charleston, West Virginia in 2018 where I graduated Magna Cum Laude. Before working at Coplin Health Systems, I worked as an ICU Registered Nurse at Camden Clark Medical Center in Parkersburg.

Q: If you could give one piece of advice, what would it be?

CM: Remember that our bodies are made to move. Exercise can be so good for both your physical and mental health.

Q: What is the most enjoyable part of your job?

CM: I enjoy learning something new everyday. Healthcare is always growing and evolving.

Q: When not at Coplin, what do you enjoy doing?

CM: In my free time, I enjoy the outdoors by hiking, biking, skiing, white water rafting, and kayaking. I also like to read and enjoy painting.

Additionally, I enjoy volunteering at the Humane Society and also enjoy participating in the Night to Shine event through the Tim Tebow Foundation.

Q: What are your professional goals and interests?

CM: I love building strong relationships with my patients and involving them in their care and coming up with a plan and goals that works for them. Preventative care is key to early diagnosis and treatment and I hope to help educate my patients about that.

Q: What might surprise people to know about you?

CM: I have an identical twin!

Q: Tell us a little bit about you personally.

CM: I have been married to my high school sweetheart for four years. We welcomed our son, Braden, a chunky baby boy into our family last year. He topped the scales at 11 lbs 2 oz. We also have a hound-mix that we adopted from the Humane Society, named Bentley.
