Coplin Health Systems Welcomes Dr. Richard E. Cain

PARKERSBURG, WV (February 27, 2025) – Coplin Health Systems is pleased to welcome Richard E. Cain, M.D., to its team at River Valley Family Care in Ravenswood, W.Va. Cain brings to the practice more than 30 years of experience as a primary care physician.

A native of Grantsville, W.Va., Cain is a 1988 graduate of the Marshall University School of Medicine. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology from West Virginia University in Morgantown, W.Va., and an Associate of Arts degree in biology from Potomac State College in Keyser, W.Va. He completed his residency at United Hospital Center in Clarksburg, W.Va., where he served as Chief Resident from 1990 to 1991.

Cain comes to Coplin Health Systems from the physicians’ office of Vandalia Health (formerly PARS Healthcare) in Belpre, Ohio. He also previously practiced at Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center in Grantsville, W.Va., Marietta Health Care Physicians in Marietta, Ohio, and Cornerstone Health Care and Parkersburg Family Practice, both in Parkersburg, W.Va.

Rob Dudley, CEO of Coplin Health Systems, said Cain’s addition will further support the system’s mission to serve the health and wellness needs of its communities.
