Coplin Health Systems Announces New Mobile Health Unit Stop at Parkersburg Fire Station No. 2

PARKERSBURG, WV (July 1, 2026) – Coplin Health Systems is expanding its Mobile Health Unit (MHU) program with a new ongoing community stop at Parkersburg Fire Station No. 2, kicking it off with a community celebration on July 8 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. The additional stop strengthens Coplin’s commitment to community partnership and increases access to primary and behavioral healthcare services for residents in their own neighborhoods.

Attendees at the July 8 event can explore the MHU, meet the Coplin care providers, participate in family-friendly activities, and learn more about the services provided through the MHU program. Free popsicles will also be provided to children during their visit. Fire Chief Jason Matthews and the Parkersburg Fire Department will also participate in the event, offering resources and informational take-home materials for families.

Parkersburg Fire Station No. 2 was selected as the newest location because of its role as a trusted, familiar anchor within the neighborhood. “Fire stations are viewed as safe, community-centered spaces,” explained Tracy Martin, Chief Executive Officer of Coplin Health Systems. “By placing our newest Mobile Health Unit stop here, we’re meeting people where they are and making healthcare more accessible to the families who need it most.”

Parkersburg Mayor Tom Joyce expressed his support for the new stop, noting its importance for the local community. “This partnership reflects our shared commitment to community health,” Mayor Joyce said. “We are very happy that the Mobile Health Unit will add this stop to their program, and I look forward to seeing everyone at the celebration event!”

“Our Mobile Health Units allow us to deliver high-quality primary and behavioral healthcare in a way that is convenient, familiar, and responsive to community needs,” said Dr. Nichols, Chief Medical Officer at Coplin. “With the addition of this stop at Fire Station No. 2, we have four stops across the region to serve the communities each month. We want residents to know that these services are here for them.”

Beginning after the July 8 celebration event, the Mobile Health Unit will visit Parkersburg Fire Station No. 2 on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., following the St. Xavier stop. Services available at the MHU include routine primary care appointments, behavioral health visits, women’s health services, sports and work physicals, basic dental exams, and more.

To view the full schedule of upcoming MHU stops or to make an appointment, please visit our website at www.coplinhealth.com or call (304) 440-5150. Walk-in visits are also available at each stop for those without a prior appointment.
