Free Sports Physicals Available to Jackson County Students
Free sports physicals will be available to any Jackson County middle and high school student planning to participate in summer practices and fall sports.
“At the wellness center, we strive to support the community’s youth by offering quality care without the financial headaches,” said Jessica Coe, Office Manager at Jackson County Schools Wellness Center. “With free physicals offered at two locations, students can be relieved to know that they can play the sports they love all while having appropriate medical check-ups openly available in their community.”
The sports physicals will be available at two locations: Jackson County Schools Wellness Center in Ripley from May 28 to June 7 and at River Valley Family Care in Ravenswood on June 11 and June 12.
Appointments are required for those interested. To schedule an appointment at Jackson County Schools Wellness Center, call 304-372-7341 and to reach River Valley Family Care, call 304-273-1033.
Students will need a signed sports physical form if their parents/guardian will not be with them during the physical. Students can receive these forms from their coach.
Parents do not need to be present as long as the student has a current enrollment form allowing them to be seen at the wellness center and a signed physical form.
Seventh and 12th-grade immunizations will also be available.
