River Valley Family Care Welcomes Nurse Practitioner Stephanie Vickers
Coplin Health Systems is pleased to welcome family nurse practitioner Stephanie Vickers to Coplin Health Systems at the River Valley Family Care location. Vickers is excited to join the health center’s medical team and provide primary care to patients of all ages.
“As a nurse practitioner in a rural community, I look forward to having a significant impact not just on the lives of my patients but also on the community as a whole,” Vickers said. “One of my goals as a primary care provider is to develop long-term relationships with my patients and their families, helping them understand their overall health goals and encourage preventive health screenings and practices.”
Vickers earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University in Minneapolis, Minn., in August 2021, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. She is board certified as a family nurse practitioner and licensed in Ohio and West Virginia. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Ohio University in 2018.
Prior to obtaining her bachelor’s degree, Vickers worked as a registered nurse for more than 20 years. Her medical experiences range from working in cardiac telemetry, pediatrics, and the catheterization lab to the orthopedic and neurosurgical units.
“I have been blessed to work in a variety of healthcare settings, and it has made me the well-rounded provider I am today,” Vickers said. “I strive for a connection with my patients and let them know they can discuss their health concerns with me, and I promise to listen.”
Dr. Darrin E. Nichols, Chief Medical Officer of Coplin Health Systems, said Stephanie’s passion for community-based care and her leadership skills will greatly benefit the River Valley Family Care patients.
“Listening is one of the most powerful aspects of healthcare, and it is one of the strengths Stephanie brings to her approach to healthcare,” Dr. Nichols said. “We are honored to have Stephanie bring her cardiac care expertise to Coplin Health Systems and support us in our commitment to provide quality patient care.”
Vickers is interested in educating her patients about the importance of immunizations, preventive healthcare practices, and mental health. When not caring for patients, Vickers enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and two children, camping, hunting, and traveling.
Vickers is now accepting appointments at River Valley Family Care. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call 304-273-1033 or visit coplinhealth.com.
