School-Based Care
We operate and maintain several school-based health centers.
Not only do we treat current students, but anyone that resides within the school system’s area. You don’t even need to have kids!

Telehealth Backpack Program
Coplin Health Systems’ Telehealth Backpack Program helps students receive timely medical care at school when they’re not feeling well. Using secure, portable telehealth technology located in the school nurse’s office, students can connect with a Coplin provider for evaluation and care—without leaving school.
How It Works
1.
A student feels unwell and visits the school nurse.
2.
The nurse initiates a telehealth visit using Coplin’s telehealth backpack, with all care taking place in the nurse’s office.
3.
A Coplin provider evaluates the student using portable medical tools to assess, diagnose, and treat common concerns such as mild illnesses, minor injuries, or behavioral health needs like anxiety or stress.
4.
Parents or guardians can join the visit by phone or computer, allowing them to stay connected and involved in care decisions once consent is on file.
5.
Treatment recommendations are provided, and prescriptions may be sent to the family’s preferred pharmacy when appropriate. Prescription delivery may be available in select areas.
6.
If a student is too ill to remain at school, standard school procedures are followed to ensure they return home safely.
Complete your student’s registration ahead of time so care is available when they need it.
Once registered, your child can access care quickly and safely at school. Have questions? Call 304-861-4150 for help or more information.
