DESCRIPTION:Bonnie’s Bus is a mobile mammography unit that provides breast cancer screening throughout West Virginia\, especially in rural parts of the state with limited or no access to screening mammography. \nHow can I schedule an appointment on Bonnie’s Bus?\nCall 304-275-3301 to make an appointment. \nWho can get a mammogram on Bonnie’s Bus?\nThe bus provides mammograms to individuals who fall within screening guidelines\, including women\, men\, transgender\, and gender-diverse people who: \n\nLive in West Virginia and are age 40 or older\, regardless of ability to pay\nLive in West Virginia and are age 35-39 and requesting a baseline mammogram with a payment source\nAre age 40 or older with a previous breast cancer-related issue and need a routine mammogram\nLive outside of West Virginia and are age 40 or older with a payment source for the mammogram\n\nUninsured patients living in West Virginia over the age of 40 will not be turned away. Grant funding and donations will be used to cover the cost. \nWhat type of payment is accepted on Bonnie’s Bus?\nMammograms on Bonnie’s Bus are not free. The bus serves women\, men\, transgender\, and gender-diverse people who have private insurance\, Medicare\, Medicaid\, or those who qualify for the West Virginia Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Program. Uninsured patients living in West Virginia who are 40 and older can receive a screening mammogram on the Bus through the generosity of grant funding and donations. \nWhat do I need to bring to the appointment?\nPatients should bring their insurance information\, driver’s license or picture ID\, and a healthcare provider’s orders for the mammogram. \nPlease arrive 15 minutes prior to the appointment to check-in with staff and complete the appropriate paperwork.
